Awesome little kit, i do find that the ribbon cable after installed into the disc drive port and folded over is too short to be held in place – i used some kapton tape to stop it from falling out. Works perfectly though, i’d definitely recommend this product.

You don’t get a “gamecube-esque” interface like flippy drive, but you’re able to watch the gamecube logo upon boot up and the gamecube then boots swiss, letting you pick what every game you want to play. You can also still utilize the optical drive if yours works, so you don’t lose any functionality. No soldering either.

Be patient and gentle with the install, don’t crease the ribbon cable too hard (besides that one point in the very middle). Follow the guides exactly, and you should be fine. Just make sure that you are patient with the ribbon cable and you do not make hard creases to the ribbon cable! This picoloader kit is great. It’s super easy to use provided you’re okay with deconstructing your gamecube a little bit. The ribbon cable is a little delicate, but not so much that i ever felt like i was going to treat or damage it. Using the picoloader does take some research, but i figure most people wouldn’t be buying it if they hadn’t already done their research.

The picoloader is a slick little unit, and the modding took less than an hour. I got the sd2sp2 pro bundle, which was also easy to install. The pico itself comes preloaded with swiss and connects to the gamecube optical drive with a ribbon cable, no soldering required. It came with a spare cable in case you stuff it up the first time, but i had no problems. Very happy with the purchase, can totally recommend.

The installation was super simple, and to activate Swiss, I just had to follow a tutorial I found on YouTube. You need a USB-C data cable to connect it to the computer and flash the PicoLoader. I also got 2 other adapters for the GameCube: GC2SD (for classic save games) and SD2SP2 (for loading games). It works great. It charges faster than mini DVDs.
