For the price i paid compared to the more expensive upscalers the gbsc pro is actually. A pretty decent scaler i upgraded from the 2x and found flaws so chose to upgrade to this one.
There is an entire discord channel dedicated for support and there is a developer constantly updating the firmware for the upscaler itself

Very cool device! I recommend updating to version 1.3 from the official github right away. The included power adapter is good quality. The processor does run quite warm, though — i’m thinking about replacing the aluminum heatsink with a copper one.

However, there are still many concerns, so i’m looking forward to future firmware updates.
– an output resolution of 1980×1080 will force an aspect ratio of 4:3.
– in the initial state, the image appears slightly overexposed.
– running the automatic settings adjustment improves the overall look, but requires repeated setup.
– i’d like the automatic adjustment to be performed when video is recognized.
– some settings are reset even after changing them.
– there’s a settings save menu, but i have to load the settings every time i start up, which is a pain.

Its incredible wether old 240p consoles through composite or 480i 4:3 game cube games or 16:9 480p wii games through component / rgb scart this thing just works. Its easy to configure and you have multiple options to interact with it more simply through the nob but a little limited in options if you are a nerd or more complex through the remote or even more complex connectigin through wifi to it (very easy to do, just look into the menu with the nob for the acces point data).
The versatility and quality and simplicity of this thing even compared competitors that cost 5x as much (if you catch my drift) its just incredible. The retro futuristic syle and rgb also make it look good in my set up which i also value.

I liked it, it’s not perfect, but it’s much better than the orange ODV garbage which left me with a bad taste in my mouth. You just have to know how to adjust the parameters of the scaler to get a desired image. Tested with my Super Nintendo 1chip with Super Street Fighter 2 and Yoshi’s Island and they look great. With some games like the Super Game Boy adapter or the Street Fighter 2 World Warrior versions, the image vibrates, but I want to think that there are few games that present this.

This upscaler is incredible. In the past, i had experience with other gbs control from gamescare (famous brazilian gaming store), but this new one is much better in construction, quality of the components, the possibility of use remote control. Also, it’s not necessary to use any adapter vga to hdmi as in the gbs gamescare.
For using psone and playstation 2, this option is the best as possible if you seek a good product for a good price. I paid 650,00 reais considering a promotion, that’s a good price range for this.

It’s an interesting option, but… For those who already have 1 GBS Control V2 blue and 1 retroscaller 2x, you will be disappointed. The final result is identical to the blue GBS Control, with the advantage of having 1 remote control, and regarding the use of Av and SVideo, the Retroscaller 2x is superior, with a cleaner image. Just understand that its usability is 100% with the Brisa firmware. The official firmware is missing a lot of things, and here at least the profiles weren’t saved. the best upscaler of all, better than OSSC, the image is much smoother and more dynamic, the image is smoother than before, the upscaler is fantastic, you need to play around a bit with the GBSC controllers to understand how to get the perfect image. I have a 55-inch TV and it works great, I recommend setting GSM to OPL in PAL version to have the image stretched to the maximum on the TV. They are not as easy as they seem, you have to test each console, each connector has a mode, even if you tell it what you are using, but if you don’t have the correct resolution, it doesn’t give you an image, or if you set it to 60 Hz and the console gives 50, it doesn’t work for you, but it’s a very good product.

Compared to cheap composite to HDMI converters, the image is clearly much cleaner.
With 240p, you can include scanlines and make it look like an old-fashioned game screen. Alternatively, in 2x mode, you can replace the scanlines with a smooth display function to make the dots appear smoother.

I had some difficulty at first but now it’s working well. It’s not perfect. On the Megadrive via scart, you need to make a mod sinc striper on the cable or on the gbs itself.

Overall, this is a very good device for playing retro games on modern displays, especially with systems like snes, ps2, wii etc. However, it’s not perfect and has some details.
One major disappointment for me was the lack of scanline options when using s-video or composite signals. I wanted to enjoy super mario 64 with scanlines, but this feature only works with higher-quality signals such as rgb, scart, component, and vga and it sucks because i don’t have a rgb modified n64.
Another issue is that the default colors out of the box look quite off and wash. I had to adjust my monitor settings to make the image look better. In comparison, devices like the retrotink 2x pro, retroscaler2x, and rad2x deliver more vibrant colors by default.
That being said, once you set it up properly, the gbsc pro does its job well and provides a good experience for playing your retro consoles in a modern display.
